MS 201 TC-M

New top-handled chain saw with M-Tronic™ technology for arborists and forestry professionals

Description

The NEW MS 201 T C-M top-handled chain saw is the latest development in technology for arborists and forestry professionals. The STIHL M-Tronic technology provides easier starting with a cold/warm start recognition system that calculates the exact fuel dosage without the need for a choke position in the Master Control Lever™. There are no manual adjustments required for the fuel dosage as it is electronically calculated, while taking into account external conditions. The STIHL M-Tronic technology ensures fast and responsive acceleration event from a cold start and it remembers your previous settings indefinitely and restores them when you restart the chain saw – if external conditions are the same, full engine performance is immediately at your disposal every time you start. Its compact design, optimal handling and low weight make this chain saw very easy to use

STIHL M-Tronic (M)

Fully electronic controlled ignition timing and fuel metering system. The engine management STIHL M-Tronic (M) system ensures optimum engine performance, constant maximum speed and excellent acceleration. Manual carburetor adjustments are not necessary.

STIHL Anti-vibration system

Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine's engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles. The chainsaw therefore runs noticeably smoother. This allows the user to save their strength and work longer.

Reduced-emission engine technology

2-stroke engine with stratified charge. A fuel-free layer of air is created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle. This results in more power with a lower weight, up to 20% lower fuel consumption than regular 2-stroke engines and significantly reduced exhaust emissions.

Advanced combustion technology

Four overflow channels swirl the fuel-air mix before ignition, allowing for optimum combustion and highly efficient performance. The result is lower fuel consumption and high torque across a broad rpm range.

STIHL ElastoStart

Due to compression pressure, jerky stresses occur when starting internal combustion engines. The damping element in the ElastoStart special starter grip alternately absorbs and releases force according to the compression pattern. The result is smooth, even starting.

Tool free fuel caps

Special caps to open and close the tank cap quickly, easily and without tools.

Compensator

This controller in the carburettor prevents the fuel-air mixture getting richer as the air filter becomes clogged. The correct quantity of fuel is delivered to the carburettor depending on the quantity of air passing through the air filter. This keeps the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture constant and hence also the engine power. The filter doesn't need to be cleaned until an appreciable drop in power occurs

STIHL Ematic System

Compared to conventional bars without Ematic, the STIHL Ematic system reduces the consumption of chain lubricant by up to 50 %, depending on the type of wood and the cutting attachment used. This system comprises a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain and a variable-flow or reduced-flow oil pump. As a result, virtually every drop of chain lubricant is delivered to exactly the right spot.

Side-mounted chain tensioning

The tensioning screw can be found on the side of chain saw through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain.

Single-lever master control

All important functions such as start, choke, throttle and stop are operated via a single lever.
